Unlike their single hung counterparts, double-hung windows feature two operating sashes. You can open the window in the traditional way from the bottom up as well as from the top down. This allows for better ventilation. The top sash releases hot air while the bottom sash allows fresh, cooler air in.

How do double-hung windows work?
Each sash on a double-hung window moves on its own track. When the window is unlocked, each pane moves up and down independently to open or close as needed.
Our double-hung windows also feature tilting sashes to allow you to keep them sparkling clean. Simply release the pane you’d like to clean with the latch on the side, tilt the window in, and shine away!
